Patch Notes - May 22nd, 2025

Here are the patch notes for our May 22nd, 2025 update.

Our next patch will start rolling out across consoles and PC at roughly 8AM EST on Thursday, May 22nd.

PATCH NOTES

Tuned: Base Game - 5% Perks 

  • The following perks will now activate at 20% as opposed to under 5% 

    • ‘Wax On Wax Off’ 

    • ‘Hush or Die’

    • ‘I Can Do This’ 

    • ‘Resilient’ 

    • ‘I Can Make It’

Tuned: Base Game - Bones’ Gore Bomb Radius 

  • Bones Gore Bomb trigger radius is being reduced to match the trigger radius he launched with

Tuned: Base Game - Nancy’s ‘Hurt ‘Em’ Perk 

  • The following has been added, “increases the damage dealt to a Victim caught in barbed wire if they continue to run while the barbed wire is attached to them”

  • There will be 1 HP loss per second for 5/15/30 seconds and the timer starts the moment the barbed wire has been triggered

Fixed: Base Game - Hands’ Barge and Attributes

  • Blood collected from Hands’ barge attack was not properly scaling with attribute points allocated to Blood Harvesting 

  • Stamina drain after using Hands’ barge attack was also not scaling properly with attribute points allocated to Endurance

Fixed: Base Game - Hands’ Barge

  • We have fixed a bug where after using his Barge, Hands’ stamina would not regenerate as intended

Fixed: Base Game - Connie Star Sign Ability

  • A bug has been resolved that prevented players from immediately progressing the lock picking minigame when activating Connie’s Star Sign Ability

Fixed: Base Game - Grandpa Sonar during Close Encounters

  • Victims were not being properly highlighted to other players when grappling during a Grandpa Sonar

Fixed: Base Game - Leatherface Exploit

  • We have resolved an exploit that allowed players to overhead run in place as Leatherface

    • Leatherface is designed to move forward when sprinting with his chainsaw above his head and will now function as intended

Fixed: Base Game - Leatherface Overhead Slam

  • We have fixed an issue where Leatherface’s overhead slam was not registering properly when Victims would interact with traversals or other objects

Fixed: Base Game - Lockpicking Minigame

  • Lockpicking minigame was able to be progressed without holding the correct alignment in place

Fixed: Base Game - Cook Padlock Progress Reset

  • Progress on a Cook padlock that had been removed and replaced was not correctly resetting

Fixed: Base Game - Sissy, Victims, and Poisoned Items 

  • We fixed the issue that caused Victims to not be highlighted after using poisoned health items, Fuses, Valves, and tools if Sissy has ‘Poison Pickup Locations’ equipped 

Fixed: Base Game - Danny Bypassing Hands’ Electric Trap

  • When placed on an object that could be inspected, Danny was able to bypass Hands’ Electric Trap and inspect the object successfully 

Fixed: Base Game - Matches Ending 

  • The issue that caused players to have endless games if the final Victim disconnects has been fixed 

Fixed: Base Game - Next Match, Wrong Queues 

  • Players will no longer be sent to the wrong queues when they play consecutive matches 

Fixed: Base Game - Native Party Invites

  • Accepting a native party invite after a player hits ‘play’ immediately after accepting the invitation will now work

Fixed: Base Game - Close Encounter UI

  • We have made improvements to the flash UI present when in a Close Encounter and flashes will now light up properly with each press

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Clear Eyes’ Highlighting Poisoned Water Pumps

  • Water Pumps that had been poisoned by Sissy were not highlighted as intended for Victims with ‘Clear Eyes’ equipped

Fixed: Base Game - ‘High Tolerance’ Perk 

  • The perk ‘High Tolerance’ will now adjust the highlight duration to poison duration to match the perk description, “Sissy’s poison isn’t as effective on you. Duration is 20%, 40%, 60% shorter.” 

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Knock Knock’ Perk 

  • The perk ‘Knock Knock’ will now be functional on The Mill 

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Deadbolt’ Perk

  • An issue has been resolved where the Perk ‘Deadbolt’ was not applying correctly when attempting to barge latched doors

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Fight and Flight’ Perk

  • We have resolved an issue where the perk ‘Fight and Flight’ was activating during a Close Encounter win animation and the Victim player was not able to move 

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Back For Blood’ Perk

  • We have fixed a bug for the perk ‘Back For Blood’ as it was not properly decreasing the Family Bond as intended       

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Master Key’ Perk

  • The perk ‘Master Key’ has been fixed as it was giving players infinite charges

  • The charges at Levels 1-2-3 will be 3/4/5 just as the perk description reads

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Hey Sissy’ Perk

  • A bug has been fixed with the ‘Hey Sissy’ perk where it properly activates only after Nancy interacts with a Mortar table and uses her ‘Spy’ ability

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Rescue Medic’ Perk 

  • An issue has been resolved for the perk ‘Rescue Medic’ where it was not applying the proper additional healing that was intended

Fixed: Base Game - ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’ Perk 

  • The team has fixed a bug where the perk ‘What Doesn’t Kill You’ wasn’t activating in the proper intended scenarios

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Spring Clean’ Perk Equipped on Hands

  • A bug has been resolved where Hands' stamina consumption wasn’t reduced when his Barge attack was used when the ‘Spring Clean’ perk was equipped

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Blood Runner’ Perk Equipped on Hands

  • We have fixed an issue where the perk ‘Blood Runner’ would not activate correctly when it was equipped on Hands while performing a Barge attack

Fixed: Base Game - Nancy’s Traps and Gore Bombs 

  • The team has fixed a bug where players couldn’t disarm Nancy’s barb wired traps if they were placed on a door that was destroyed by Bones’ Gore Bombs

Fixed: Base Game - Poison Inconsistencies 

  • We’ve fixed an issue where poison would not affect Victims consistently when interacting with poisoned generators and car batteries 

Fixed: Base Game - Bones’ Gore Bomb Placement

  • While Bones isn’t able to place Gore Bombs directly on the Escape Zones, we have fixed a collision issue where he is not blocked from placing them on the assets near the Escape Zones

Fixed: Base Game - Wyatt’s ‘Knife Throw Interaction’ Ability Upgrade

  • Wyatt’s ability upgrade will now let him disarm Nancy’s barbed wire traps

Fixed: Base Game - Nancy’s Garage Audio 

  • Players will now be able to hear Leatherface’s chainsaw audio from outside of Nancy’s garage 

Fixed: Base Game - Skipping Overheat Slam Attacks 

  • Victims will no longer be able to skip a knockdown animation after Leatherface hits them with an overheat slam attack 

Fixed: Base Game - Parties and Wrong Lobbies 

  • Players in parties will no longer be separated and placed in different lobbies when playing consecutive matches and will all go to the same lobby together

Fixed: Base Game - Nancy’s Traps 

  • We fixed the issue that prevented Nancy’s traps from being disarmed when placed on a door destroyed by Leatherface 

Fixed: Base Game - Gaps on Mill 

  • Family members will no longer be able to attack Victims if they are on the other side of a gaps 

Fixed: Base Game - Poisoned Items on Mill 

  • Sissy will now be able to poison the health item that spawns in the Silos area 

Fixed: Base Game - ‘Don’t Touch’ Achievement 

  • Sissy’s ‘Don’t Touch’ achievement will now unlock properly 

Fixed: Base Game - Mill Hiding Volumes 

  • Bushes in the Overgrown Exterior, Cotton Field, and Ghost Town area match their hiding volumes now

Fixed: Base Game - Johnny’s Door Barge

  • We have fixed a UI bug where Johnny would receive two button prompts to barge a door, only one button prompt will appear as intended

Fixed: Base Game - Hands’ Barge Button Input

  • The button input for Hands’ Barge was incorrect for preset 2

  • We also fixed the incorrect labeling of his barge when choosing preset 2 for controller mapping on PC

Fixed: Base Game - Flooded Area on Graveyard

  • We have adjusted the water speed of the flooded area on the Graveyard map to look more natural

Fixed: ‘Rush Week’ - Title Crash

  • We have made further improvements on Xbox for crashes experienced after playing multiple matches

Fixed: ‘Rush Week’ - Removed Map Selection Option

  • We have removed the UI for map selection in lobby as there is only one map option for players  

Fixed: ‘Rush Week’ - Fear Meter

  • Calling the police via the car radio was not properly decreasing the Fear meter for Sorority Girls

Fixed: ‘Rush Week’ - Door Latched Prompt

  • A crossed out ‘door latched’ prompt has been removed that would display when players approached an unlatchable door

Fixed: Museum Mode - Title Crash

  • We have resolved title crashes that would occur in the following situations

    • Accepting an invite while in the Museum Mode loading screen

    • Opening and closing other game modes before entering Museum Mode

    • Immediately returning to the main menu after opening Museum Mode

Fixed: Private Matches - Title Crash

  • Players would experience a title crash as the host if a non-host player repeatedly pressed the select map prompt after concluding a match

Fixed: Private Matches - Disabling Character Abilities

  • Objects would still be highlighted for Danny when character abilities were disabled by the host of a private match despite him being unable to investigate or tamper them

Fixed: Private Matches - Opposing Team Perk Effects 

  • Perk effects will no longer be visible to opposing team players

Fixed: Private Matches - Nancy’s Barbed Wire Visibility

  • When the host player is Nancy, their barbed wire will now be visible to all players as intended

Fixed: Private Matches - Well Camera Clipping

  • We’ve fixed visual camera clipping that would occur when Victims jumped through wells

Fixed: Private Matches - ‘Noise Pollution’ Perk 

  • The perk ‘Noise Pollution’ will no longer activate for the private match host as intended
